Project Notes: This kitchen remodel was completed in early 2023, several months after devastating flooding wreaked by Hurricane Ian. “The client was a Vietnam War veteran who actually worked for me for a while after he sold his own cabinet shop and retired,” says Dave Austin, owner of Dave’s Fashion Kitchens. “I was very honored that he chose me to do work for him. Being a cabinetmaker, he had some ideas and I threw some ideas back at him. His wife also interjected herself in the process. She wanted a lot of drawers. I think there are 23 of them in the kitchen.”
